[All Church] July Newsletter...Playing Tour and now in Durban!

Hello faithful friends and supporters!

I hope this email and newsletter finds you well and enjoying your summer
wherever you may be. It has been a crazy first month and a half or so here
in South Africa. I feel like I have been on the move every day which is
perfectly fine with me ;). I spent the first couple weeks in Pretoria with
an amazing host family. Then from there went to a camp for about a week in
the bush where the touring team met up together. After we all arrived, we
moved base to Soweto for a week. Finally, we then came to Durban for the
final part of the playing tour. It was an incredible journey with some great
brothers and sisters from all over the world. Praise the Lord for our safety
and community during the month of June.

Since I last emailed you all, I have been blessed to attend 4 World Cup
matches! I went to Polokwane to see France vs Mexico with some others from
Ambassadors. And since arriving in Durban I have seen 3 matches at Moses
Mabhida Stadium. Pete and I are holding hope of somehow getting into the
semi-final match here in Durban. I can't believe I have been able to see
World Cup matches live and in person! I'll never forget the experiences.
There are moments at each match when the noise level in the stadium reaches
an awesome high level and you just look at who ever is next to you and smile
and give a little laugh because it is so deafening.

Recently, I have been reading through the book of Luke. As I have been
reading, there have been a couple passages that have struck me more and
stuck out more than before. I like how that happens as we continue to grow
in our walk with Jesus and as we continued to be sanctified. The first one
is Luke 5:11 when Jesus is calling the first disciples. It says, "So they
pulled their boats up on shore, *left everything and followed him*" (my
emphasis). It says it again later when Jesus calls Levi. They left it
all...everything. And followed Jesus the rest of their life. And I was just
reminded that I leave it all...a total response. Come, leave everything and
follow Him. Only Jesus can invoke such a response from us. Amen
